“Every week I meet local entrepreneurs setting up and growing businesses, creating new, well paid jobs for local people and generating taxes that pay for our vital public services. Small and medium sized businesses are the backbone of our local economy.
“Now I’m urging more small and start up businesses here to apply for this support, which will help them to boost their productivity and create new jobs.
“Through the modern Industrial Strategy and schemes like the Start Up Loans programme, this Government is determined to support them. Yesterday, I am delighted Government responding to the campaigning of our local Federation of Small Business (FSB), delivering broad measures to ensure small businesses get paid on time.”
