Loic Rich, who currently serves on Truro City Council and who stood against Sarah Newton in the Parliamentary election, joined Sarah at a Conservative event at Place House on the Roseland on Friday night. Loic has joined the Conservative Party and is in the process of joining with the other Conservatives on Truro City Council.
Loic was born in Truro and brought up in St Agnes. He attended Richard Lander School and went on to study at University College Falmouth. Loic is a published journalist, copywriter and screenwriter.
Explaining why he had joined the Conservatives he said, “For the past 12 months I've seen the Conservative government and Conservatives locally act in an extraordinarily pragmatic and sincere way and I found it very frustrating being in a Party that along with the opposition parties seemed to be in deliberate denial of the UK's economic and social needs. It was only after a period of time out of party politics that I could make a clear decision to join the Conservatives.”
Welcoming him to the Party Sarah commended Loic for standing up for what he believed in and for the people of Cornwall. In a statement she said, “I welcome Loic to the Conservative Party and look forward to working with him for the benefit of local residents.”
