I welcome the news that schools in Truro and Falmouth had been allocated almost £700,000 in government funding to enhance their buildings and facilities.
Penair School, Pencalenick School, Glynn House Alternative Provision Academy in Truro, Falmouth School and St Agnes ACE Academy have secured a total of £693,255 from the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) for 2017 to 2018.
The main aim of the fund is to keep academy and college buildings safe and in good working order.
This funding will make sure our young people have a better learning environment and experience.
I will continue to work hard so that our local schools benefit from all funding that is available.
Children need the right buildings, equipment and inspirational teachers to give them the skills and confidence to fulfil their potential.
The amount of pupil premium for schools in Truro and Falmouth has also gone up from £2,196,000 for 2013 to 2014 to £2,797,745 for 2016 to 2017.
