Commenting on today’s announcement from the Department for Health on new capital funding for the RCHT, Cornwall’s MPs have commented: “Ensuring the NHS in Cornwall receives the investment to improve services and outcomes for people in Cornwall is a top priority. We very much welcome this new significant investment. The funding for Treliske is very important in its own right and it will enable even more investment in women and children’s health facilities in the future. We will continue to work hard to ensure the record levels of investment in our NHS reach our communities right across Cornwall.”
The Department of Health and Social Care is funding the Peripheral Site Optimisation scheme with new investment of up to £9.1million which will deliver improved clinical facilities and eradicate backlog maintenance, and the Oncology & MRI Re-provision scheme with new investment of up to £31.326 million which will deliver improvements to the Oncology/Haematology Ward and the MRI Department.
