A39 Road Improvements

Update 26th July 2016

I am pleased to report that the road improvements on the A39 have now been completed. As a result of Cornwall Councillor Peter Williams’ hard work and determined efforts, the improvements to this busy road should ease the flow of traffic and help prevent accidents from taking place in the future.

Update - 3rd December 2015

I met with Nigel Blackler from Cornwall Council this week and I am pleased to report that a consultation on proposed improvements in the Barras Moor section will be launched next week. If all goes well with the consultation, the work will be undertaken early in the New Year, before work starts at Treluswell in the spring next year.

There have been too many accidents on the busy A39 so I have been working with residents, parish councillors and Cornwall Councillor Peter Williams to secure some improvements. I met with Nigel Blackler, the officer in charge of roads at Cornwall Council, earlier this year to urge the Council to take action. As a result of Cllr Peter William's determined effort, we have secured a commitment from Cornwall Council to undertake a study and come up with proposals to improve the road. I expect this to be published soon after which there will be a public consultation. Watch this space for further developments.
